"The best and most unique feature of the 'Safety Connector' cam lock fitting is the automatic operation of the internal valves. They open and close automatically when coupled or uncoupled. (You cannot forget to use them!) Secondly, they are completely compatible with existing conventional cam lock fittings.

The purpose of this invention is to add a layer of protection to operators, drivers and personnel using existing cam lock fittings. Leaking and malfunctioning valves (check valves) can be a serious problem, but human error is still the leading factor in spills.

The 'Safety Connector' cam lock fitting will close everytime its disconnected and the internal check ball will let air in to drain the product, yet will still secure the product inside in the event of product surge. This truly unique connector can be used anywhere a cam lock fitting is used."

Patent Objectives

It is an objective of the present invention to provide a new Check Valve For Cam Lock Fitting...

• That will prevent injury to a user from the back flow of liquid from a disconnected cam lock fitting.

• That will stop the back flow of liquid from the disconnected cam lock fitting.

• That can be on either the male or female end of a cam lock fitting.

• Which can be easily operated as part of the normal operation of a cam lock fitting.

• Which is automatically closed when the cam lock fitting is opened.

• That provides a pressure relief valve which will prevent inadvertent pressurized discharges from a hose connected to the cam lock fitting.
